The new and more compact EDS-O2D1 is the lightest, smallest and most capable Pulse-Demand Oxygen system available that delivers altitude-compensated pulses of oxygen only as you inhale, using as little as 1/4 the amount of oxygen at 1/4 the weight and volume over conventional constant-flow systems that deliver one liter per minute per 10,000 ft.
The EDS-O2D1 has a precision micro-electronic pressure altitude barometer that automatically determines the volume for each oxygen pulse up to pressure altitudes of 25,000 ft. Higher altitudes are compensated with pulses of greater volume up to 25K. The EDS-O2D1 can be set to one of the 'D' ('day' or 'delayed') modes where it will delay responding with oxygen until it senses pressure altitudes of either 5k or 10k ft., saving oxygen below altitudes at which it is not needed. It can be set to 'N' ('night' or 'now') mode for night flying where it responds from sea-level and up.
Both operating modes provide the same amount of oxygen, automatically tracking pressure altitude changes. There are no scales to observe or knobs to turn as you climb or descend. Adjusting (zeroing) for new barometric pressures is not needed because the EDS-O2D1 responds directly to pressure altitude, as do the physiological properties of your body. The EDS-O2D1 is a truly automatic oxygen delivery system enhancing your safety and well-being.
The EDS-O2D1 has up to 125 hours of battery life with two (2) 'AA' alkaline batteries and operates with any MH regulator in our family. The EDS-O2D1 unit kit can upgrade any MH system, as well as many others. Each kit includes the EDS-O2D1 unit, cannula, mask, two (2) 'AA' batteries and tote bag. Also, the optional ALPS FaceMask with or without microphone is the perfect addition to any EDS system. Please note: Because the EDS-O2D1 has a very long battery life, it does not have an external power or audio jack.
The EDS delivery system is also sold alone as a basic kit. Ideal for those who have their own oxygen cylinder, but wish to upgrade to the patented EDS on-demand system. All the EDS delivery systems include an XCR-type cylinder regulator (except 2-place FPR kits), EDS-D1 unit, EDS cannula and face mask. The delivery systems are available in CGA-540 and DIN-477 (Euro norm) versions and with or without a gauge. Also, the optional ALPS FaceMask with or without microphone is the perfect addition to any EDS system.
NOTE: The EDS O2D2 and O2D1 units are portable systems designed and calibrated to be used with our regulators (~15 psig. dynamic to 30 MAX. psig. static). However, if you wish to operate from the outlets of a built-in system, we offer the EDS-STR stabilizing regulator. This will allow our portable EDS systems to operate with built-in systems that supply up to 125 psig. to the outlets in the aircraft.
To add extra flow stations to your 1-place O2D1 system (for those occasional passengers), add $100 for the FPR 4-place regulator upgrade and $90 for each MH3 or MH4 constant flow station.
Also, shown below left, is the optional ALPS FaceMask with a noise-canceling electronic microphone making it a perfect match for talking with center in the flight levels.
Please Notice: The correct way to wear the EDS cannula is when the tab opposite of the two prongs on the cannula point down towards your upper lip. If it is not worn this way the EDS may not trigger with normal breathing efforts especially at higher altitudes.

O2D1 Systems With 'AL' Series Aluminum Cylinders
The basic EDS-O2D1 Pulse-Demand Oxygen system with an aluminum oxygen cylinder consists of the following items: the aluminum oxygen cylinder with Full-Pack or CMK mounting kit, the XCR primary reducing regulator, low-pressure service line, the EDS unit and the breathing cannula and face mask. The EDS-O2D1 should be used with an XCR, XCP, new 4-place FPR regulator for all 2- and 4-place systems, or RCR regulator for correct pressure and oxygen delivery. The low-pressure service line is a high quality polyurethane line that is kink-resistant and flexible under varying temperatures. The cannula, face mask and service line connect to the EDS unit via color-coded "Quick-Connects" providing an air-tight fitting by hand. These fittings can be connected and disconnected many times. With the optional XCP connecting kit, the EDS can be used with an XCP system at the same time flow meters are being used. In addition, the optional ALPS FaceMask, with or without microphone, is the perfect addition to any EDS system.

O2D1 Systems With Light-Weight 'KF' Series Fiber-Wound Cylinders
The EDS system consists of the following items: the kevlar or silica fiber-wrapped oxygen cylinder with Full-Pack or Tuff-Pack, the XCR primary reducing regulator, low-pressure service line, the EDS unit and EDS cannula and EDS face mask and optionally the Drager face mask with or without a microphone. The EDS should be used with an XCR, XCP, or new 4-place FPR regulator for 2- and 4-place systems, or RCR regulator for correct pressure and oxygen delivery. The low-pressure service line is a high quality polyurethane line that is kink-resistant and flexible under varying temperatures. When using a larger cylinder, the optional XCP connecting kit allows the EDS to be used with the portable XCP system at the same time MH3 or MH4 flowmeters are being used.

The EDSip system was tested up to 25,000 ft. by FAA-CAMI.
Because of the growing global popularity of our EDS products that use our pulse-demand oxygen delivery technology, the FAA, USARMY and USAF decided that the pulse-demand oxygen delivery method needed to be tested. Therefore, it was, indeed, thoroughly tested at the FAA-CAMI research facility in Oklahoma City. However, the report has yet to be released by the government printing office. Meanwhile, we have been given permission by the doctors of this project at CAMI to share the draft version at this time. Since all of our EDS products use the same Pulse Demand delivery protocol technology, we felt that you may be interested in the results.
